SilverSmith
Traditional Balladry

What is a ballad? Why, a song that tells a story! And you’ll hear lots of songs and stories as Mary Smith and Terry Silver explore the wealth of traditional ballads that comprise some of the ‘folk literature’ of Ireland, the British Isles, and the USA. Terry hails from London and has been a regular on the English folk scene for over forty years. He plays whistle, mandolin and banjo. Mary has been singing traditional ballads since she was fourteen, and accompanies herself on guitar. You can listen to audio clips of Mary here.
As the duo SilverSmith, they’ll combine their respective talents and perform a wide selection of traditional ballads that run the gamut from the sad and tragic to the comic and silly!
